Sugarholics

I just watched a video by Jack Lalanne on this thread.

I’ve often heard about how sugar affects your body but I’ve never done anything to see for myself. Therefore, for the next 5 days, I will eat as little sugar as possible. That is to say, I will not eat as follows:

  1. White Sugar
  2. Candy
  3. Cake
  4. Ice Cream
  5. Jams
  6. Jellies
  7. Cookies
  8. Pies
  9. Pastries
  10. Canned Fruits
  11. Soda Pop (Most Carbonated Beverages)

When ever I feel a hunger spike, I will eat a fruit, say an apple or banana.

Here’s the video:

I’ll report back in a week.

  1. Truth.

Just after my separation, i vowed to get into better shape. I was a size 38 waist. While i waited to get my hands on p90x i vowed to cut all sugar that i could from my diet. I cut out all white sugar from my coffee, all cookies, all cereal, all bagels and white breads, alcohol and anything that had more than 5 grams of sugar in a serving.

In that one month before p90x i went from a 38 to a 36 and a whole notch lower on my belt. My tight pants were loose. I was on my way.

Sugar is the enemy of health. You can see where my journey began here:

    • By separation, do you mean long term relationship or marriage?

I’m not worrying about waistline at the moment, but physical fitness. Failed an event on a PT test last week and that shocked me because that has never happened before.

I’m planning on retaking the test soon. Eliminating sugar is pretty hard – sometimes you eat something without even thinking about it.

Also – Halloween is a real bad week to try this out.

      Thanks for commenting.

      • Separation as in marriage. Never got the divorce. Don’t need to, the sep took care of all the legaleeze. Whoever wants to get remarried will pay for the divorce.

        Ain’t gonna be me 🙂

Yeah, Halloween is a bad time. Thankfully, i’ve worked out enough were i can let loose on these blue moons, so long as i don’t overdo it and stick to my discipline all other times.

        • Oh I see.

Sounds like it was an amicable split, then.

I may break the sugar fast for tomorrow – but keep it up for an extra day.

My waist is fine – but I need to stay in shape. I have an important physical test for army that looms ominously above me.
